2x CPU power supply?

Hello there,

I kindly ask for a help on choosing a power supply for a built that I am gathering.

The motherboard will be the ASUS Z9PE-D8 which requires dual 8pin ATX connectors for 2 CPU's power connectors.

The power supply I have targeted is the Antec 1000W Platinum. Looking at the manual it only has one 8pin (4+4) ATX connector.

However it also has 1x 8pin EPS connector. Can I use this in order to power my second CPU? Will it affect the performance in any way?


Could you also please provide some good examples for power supply that are 850+ which support this motherboard.

I'm pretty sure that the 8 pin EPS connector and the ATX 4+4 are the same thing, and not 2 separate cords. You can probably just use an adapter. I'd suggest calling ASUS, they have pretty good phone support.
