I was wondering if the Intel i5 3570k is compatible on my Inspiron 570. I currently have the AMD Athlon II x2 250 running on the Dell 4GJJT motherboard. I was also wondering if the AMD FX-8350 would install properly.

No.

Intel CPUs won't work on AMD motherboards. Vice-versa.

The FX 8350 is for a new socket (AM3+). Your motherboard is either AM2 or AM2+, both of which are too old and won't support AM3 (If AM2) or AM3+ (If AM2+).

Time for a new system.

And just as an FYI:

The i5 2500k (The i5 3570k is just a tad better, by around 5% if iIRC) costs 220% of the price of the 965 BE and only does 120% of the performance.
In other words; Don't bother with intel. They have many fanboys on this forum, but they're all just trying to justify paying a bunch more for only a tad more 'oomph'.

But I digress.

Time for a new system.

The answer to both compatiblities is no. You're running a 570 chipset, not sure exactly what socket, but that chipset isn't available anymore.

You'd need a new motherboard if you wanted either the 3570k or the FX-8350.
If you wanted the i5. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813121605 is a good motherboard

If you wanted the FX-8350 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131877 is a good motherboard.

Edit: You'll also need (new most likely ram and) a PSU. Most likely a new GPU too. So in total, system overall is required to upgrade to current generation.

If you're not a big user for computers, the A10 is a nice choice and there's the next gen A10 around in another week or so.
