Quick, kinda dumb question

Ok, so i am building my computer sat and maybe sun. I have an anti-static wriststrap and I dont have anywhere to connect it to. could I just use a bunch of extension cables for usb and connect it to the end of the usb? or will some electricity go through me and into my components?

Sorry if I didn't place in correct section, didn't know where else to put it.

Just try not to walk on carpet and keep touching something metal on your case and you'll be fine.

Oh that's a decent point. If you are careful enough you should be alright really. Maybe find a screw on the case or something. I do most of my builds without my strap.

ya, the inside of the case where the screws are arent panted, right? so screw in screw and that will link to rest of case to get rid of static?

I just want to be really careful, using the wrist strap

You'll be fine any way you do it unless you're on carpet or something
