I've been using an iMac for the past few years, and I love its colors and viewing angles, but I hate its glossy coating. And there's the problem that it won't work with my new pc. I've looked at every IPS monitor available in the US (I don't want to play the lottery), and I just don't like any of them. I tried a Dell Ultrasharp, which was excellent, but its aggressive anti-glare coating made it unusable for graphic design work. I've now also tried the View Sonic VP2365-LED, and although the anti-glare coating isn't as bad, the purple glow when viewed from the side is no less annoying to me than TN panels. And for various other reasons, it doesn't seem worth the $300 price tag.
So, I'm ending my search for an IPS. Sure, they look nice, but I'm used to laptop screens anyway. I want to get a 21.5" to 23.6" TN, but there's way too many to choose from. What would you say is the best (on budget) TN monitor?
To sum it up:
21.5" - 23.6"
16:9 or 16:10; I don't care
None of that horrible 3h anti-glare coating, but not glossy either.
Will be used for gaming and artwork (but I don't need colors to be perfect).
Please reply, I'm desperate!
(and... er... what subsection is supposed to be for displays?)
Worst part is I had hoped it would have a VESA mount(It was for my girl friends system and it sits a bit high) so I could swap out my old monitors base(I dont even care if the colors match. Its all about function). In the end, for this use it was fine.
