I love heavy gaming and codings..what kit shoul i take i3 or intel G645?

hi...my name is parminder...from some days i am looking for best and cheap intel processor...i love gaming and coding as i am an computer engineering student..i had been stucked in intel i3 or intel G645 models..! as both have same 3MB cache, little diffrence between their clock speed(i3 - 3.1 and G645- 2.9), mirever i3 got little higher HD 3000 graphics as compade to pentium g645 simply got HD graphics, i3 got 4 threads and g645 got 2, i3 price is 9,600 INR and G645 price is 6,000 INR(the one i can easily afford), i know i3 is little better than G645 but i afford small budget this year, i love gaming, please assist me which kir should i take at best and cheap level which fullfill my heavy gaming and coding needs?

Definately need i3 for gaming minimum. Pentium won't handle it as most games need 4 threads these days.

Debatable. It depends what kind of GPU compromises you have to make.



At the super cheap level, I'd probably look at a quad core AMD APU system.

In fact it's very debatable. Benches show that performance gains between a G860 vs an i3-3220 are very little. A G645 is a different story all together though, not to mention the 1066 MHz handicap.

Furthermore, hyper-threading/multiple threads haven't seen to dent gaming performances up until now. Of course since OP is a Engineering Student, he might need a little more horseback, therefore, the i3. But I'm pretty sure the G860 (if he can get it) will suffice.
