My friend is building a new pc and needs some help.

Approximate Purchase Date: Christmas
Budget Range: 500-600 You can go above 600 by $10 or $20 if need be

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, video editing

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS, cd drive and if need be hdd

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: any

Country: Canada

Parts Preferences: none although I do think he said he wanted a fx 8320 paired with a 7850/70

Overclocking: Yes

SLI or Crossfire: no

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: If a hdd does not fit in the budget then he can reuse his old one

You'll be good to go, the new Piledriver chips are pretty solid specially with a budget build. The FX-8320 is a bit expensive per your budget, but the 6300 is still a great solution especially after overclocking:
