So my budget is $500 AUD and this is what I have so far, I also need a recommendation on a good cheap 1080p hdmi capture card, I need the PC to be capable of playing some games at 1080p (No bf3 but maybe some skyrim) I use Photoshop, sony vegas and handbrake a lot so multi threaded performance is a must, I own a samsung syncmaster 1920x1080 23.5 inch monitor and all the necessary peripherals ^_^, I also own a case I can use (some HP case very good looking) and a 1TB 7200RPM HDD. optical drives already owned as well.

This is what I have so far PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($139.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock 960GM/U3S3 FX Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($61.97 @ Newegg)
Memory: Patriot Viper 3 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($25.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: MSI Radeon HD 7770 1GB Video Card ($99.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Antec EarthWatts Green 650W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply ($39.99 @ Newegg)
Other: HD capture card ($120.00)
Total: $487.93
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.) But am ready for some advice and criticism <3

And yeah I realise I can't buy from newegg

Hmm, prices are a bit more expensive there, hun.

Here's a revision and some links to prices near you. Your PSU is overkill. 450w would be more than enough.

Yeah dam like $80 more expensive  I think I'll take out the Capture device for now and buy it in a months time.
Thanks for your help <3 (its very annoying how much we Aussies always have to pay out of our noses for things :/)

Really? I don't think it will be "overkill" for 1080p gaming? Also question , I have another 2 monitors (2 samsungs @ 1280 x 1024) would I be
able to run 3 screen's at once with the 7770?

You can run three screens (will need a mini-displayport adapter), wouldn't try gaming across them though.

Yep, Australian prices are pretty high. The AMD price cut has only just started to register here...
Thankfully we will be getting the Never Settle deal. Wait till November to get that 7770 and get Far Cry 3 for free.

I have a mini-display port adapter that I use with my old school macbook (given to us free) would that work? Also thanks for the info on the never settle deal, Won't be buying till late November anyway. (Why are Aussie prices so high? )

Presumably because we are an isolated little island and it costs a lot to ship to us (never mind that the majority of components are manufactured in the south-east Asia region).

Think its more to do with the lack of competition here. In America there's Newegg, Tiger Direct, Amazon all fighting for online business. Then there are multiple brick and mortar chains like Fry's, Micro-center and Best Buy (that also have an online prescence) throughout the country. Very competitive over in the States.

Meanwhile, we have MSY on the east coast offering a limited range. Umart mostly in Brisbane and a small presence in Melbourne. Then PC Case Gear which almost has a monopoly on Melbourne and much of the online space.
Then other small players like Centrecom, Mwave and Scorptec that aren't really competitive at all. Don't even know about the West Coast.
No massive retail chains to speak of either.

Just a lack of competition really. I imagine if an American company like Newegg started to ship here at reasonable rates or set up locally, prices would drop fairly quickly.

But hey, we could be in New Zealand

Hmmm In threaded apps the i3 gets left behind , but in non threaded apps.. i3 leaves fx behind :p Looks like its the fx 6300 though for me.
