I just finished rebuilding 2 older machines for friends, from spare parts, man that was a butt kicking situation, one of the M/Bs had onboard video failure, and no way to disable the onboard video, by jumper or cmos settings, and the auto canceling wouldn't work when the video card was installed. If you had about 10 of those machines in a row, it could almost put you out of computer building business, because it takes time to solve those problems, I felt like taking a shotgun to the thing, but believe it or not I got both of them up and running great.

My apoligies to you in the other thread, you know what I mean, I was kinda absent for a long time, I had problems to deal with, all computer related, and they really devoured time, but check out my defense of you that I posted, it might make your day.

I hear what your saying about getting out the shotgun! Then there's the other side, like my neighbor. I built his wife's machine last summer for her. He phones up & says WOW, big problem with the computer!! The sound card is burnt up!! I said it doesn't have one, it's onboard. Well it has no sound at all we can't even play music on it. So I stop what I'm doing & go over there to see. As I'm listening to him tell me he's had 2 different sets of speakers on it & it just won't work, I look at properties & everything is fine. I turn the case just a tad & see, the speakers are plugged into the mic. So I tell him, you plugged them into the wrong hole. No way he says. I said where's the manual? He gets it & I show him it's in the wrong hole. He swore that that's the hole I had them plugged into when I built it

There you go, half hour or so gone for nothing really. Can't make much money that way either.
