I am new to this forum. I have a Dell XPS L501X, which has been hanging up since a week.It keeps happening every 5-10 minutes. My specs:
Intel core I5 CPU M460 @ 2.53GHz 4 GB ram 500 GB hard disk Windows 7 64 bit/Ubuntu Nvidia Geforce GT 420M graphic card
I have ran many tests but couldnt really find the problem. I have done the Memory test for RAM, restored my windows twice, hardware test using Dell support center(everything was fine except for the battery, so I now use directly from the AC adapter), Regcure Pro for system registry, de-fragmented disk C,clean boot up,chkdsk.
When using in safe mode also it hangs up and even on Ubuntu. So I am sure this is a hardware issue.
And I uninstalled my Nvdia driver and it worked fine for sometime. Then i installed 258.96 driver for nvdia and then the same problem again. I uninstalled that as well..but it keeps freezing but not as much as before.
First time it froze was when i was watching a video on youtube( with a rattling noice).
Please help me. I cant find what the problem is.

It sounds like a hardware issue. I would think this system is somewhat new. Why not send it in for warranty repair.
No its not new...Its a year and half since i bought it..
