Hey Building a new rig/first time/still learning.

Have a ASRock Z77 Extreme4-M mob and a Corei5 3570K processor., was wondering what kind of graphics card would go well if I'm trying to maximize gaming for new mist of pandaria and guild wars 2.

:)

A friend recommended a GeForce GTX 680? any other thoughts?

Thanks :)

One Sapphire's/MSi's HD 7870 would be more than enough, you really don't need HD 7950 for that.
Get Nvidia only in the case if you want PhysX (and you don't need 680. MSi's 660Ti "Power Edition" would be more than enough to satisfy your demands).

LOL, it would even max out beasts like Crysis (ESPECIALLY if it's the MSi's "Hawk", which is THE best HD 7870 out there).
Of course HD 7870 would max out any MMO - even the most fresh ones (like PSO II, TO, Guild Wars II, Boringlands 2, Final Fantasy XIV and etc).

I'm not your "buddy".

Anyway, aside from all that:
OP, it's for you to decide, I just hope that you will make a truly wise choice in the end.
If you can afford it - get MSi's 660Ti "Power Edition". If you can't afford it - get either Sapphire's HD 7870 or MSi's HD 7870 "Hawk". You really don't need any others.
That's my last word on it.
Have fun, and I wish you the best of results.
