Will the 680 be to much?

ok so i am about to buy a new system with a gigabyte680 and i was wondering if a 650w psu can handle it

Tom's did a review on the 680 when it came out - here is its power consumption:



As you can see, under heavy load the 680 never went over 275W.

Your TX650 has 624W of available power on the 12V rail, have a look at the top of page 5 on this technical specs sheet: Corsair TX-650

That would leave 349W spare for other components - in other words heaps! You'll be fine.
