More about nvidia geforce 8400gs excellent playing games crysis
  1. The 8400GS is a very old card, and a step above integrated cards of the day. You might be able to play it at very low resolutions (640X480) with nothing turned on.

Overall, you really should upgrade if you're going to game. If you do need help in upgrading, post your system specs, including the power supply, as well as budget, and we can help find a better card.
  2. you can play crysis 2 with this card but at very low resolution and lowest settings....im using a core 2 duo processor with geforce 8400gs and overclocked to 680 mhz with msi afterburner and played fifa12 and crysis2 with minimal settings.seriously speaking this is not a gaming card, you need to get a new card for playing games like crysis2,fifa12 etc at max setting...lower resolution and lower setting will allow u to play crysis2 but your gameplay experience will not be that good........
  3. what card will u suggest me with a budget of $100-120$?
    my system specs are:-
core 2 duo e4500 @2.2 ghz overclocked it to 2.6ghz
    4gb ddr3 ram
    atx 450 watt psu
    msi g41m-p28 motherboard

A little over, but the best card for the money.
  5. i doubt that card would work on his mobo.. coz its an old mobo with old pcie slot i believe. so its safer to go with HD6770 or gtx550
  6. so wont a pci 3.0 bus stand card run on a pci 2.0 motherboard?

It should do as PCIe is supposed to be backwards compatible but people have found that ATi/AMD cards can be problematic.
  8. so would u suggest me to buy a hd 7770?

I would suggest that you buy whatever you want and if it doesn't work then kick up a hell of a stink with the manufacture.
  10. no buddy m not saying that....just wanna make sure that my specs meet up the card's demand.......will my mobo support that card?

That's the whole point of "backwards compatibility", it should support whatever card you choose and if it doesn't then kick up a fuss with the cards manufacturer.
  12.

Good advice actually, saves a lot of hassle trying to find working combinations etc.

And maybe AMD starts to make really backwards compatible cards if they receive enough kicking.
