Ok, i installed creative's live drivers in XP because I needed to use some software that came with it. Then when i restarted and logged in when it was booted it just restarted. So when it comes up this time it does it again. Then I uninstall Creative's drivers and it locks up during the uninstall. Then when i did ctrl+alt+del i ended the task and tried again same thing. Then i went to just restart and when it says "windows is shutting down" it locked up. I reset it and it then booted up fine. BTW burgerman does the GTXP have a line in??

Of course it has line in. On the card, even (the only connector on the card besides the 44-pin one that goes to the rack). It has Midi, 1/8" and RCA, I believe.
I kinda figured it would have a line in. Have you tried it?? The reason im asking is i'm recording my dad's old records on cd's for him. For now i'll probably stick with my live since after buying XP i only have $23 left. Which will go up some this weekend as i'm reloading a computer that was crashed by a virus. Oh yea how did u get your name green??

I just tried them for my Sound Blaster Live Value and they are [-peep-].
Tried to play a song in Winamp and it said "Could not create DirectSound device". Looked for an option that used to be around that let you change the number of voices or whatever you could play at one time and couldn't find it anywhere.
I updated because the ones that come with XP make the microphone input really quiet, even with everything on full and 20dB gain thing on. Worked fine under Me...
Hmm I downloaded the Creative SB live drivers for XP from creative webSite and sound quality is better and haven't had any problems. Though I always pull sound hardware acceleration to standard from Full Hardware don't trust Creative. I'm still waiting on my Santa Cruz 5.1 will be here soon enough. But seriously i've had no problems with these drivers are the beta ones before these!
how do you do the rollback in WinXP? Cuz I just install Creative SBLive Value! Driver for WinXP. But I haven't restarted the computer yet. What if i restart the computer and the whole system messed up? Please help!
It won't hurt to restart. With mine after 2 restarts it worked fine. But go to your device manager and go to the properties of the sound card stuff and go to rollback driver.
