Gaming PC Silent Mini tower 1st time build

HI all, trying to make cheapest build in my price range (max $1,000) for this Mini tower case. PC will be used for gaming and some graphic work.

Fractal Design Define Mini Black Micro ATX Silent PC Computer Case

Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz

ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink

CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866

EVGA SuperClocked 02G-P4-2662-KR GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0

Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

ASUS 24X DVD Burner

Noctua NF-P12-1300 120mm Case Fan (extra intake fan total 2 intake 1 out)

CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 V2 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Microsoft Windows 8 64-bit (Full Version) - OEM

Subtotal: $1,081.89

Will be my 1st ever build so do all these components work together? as I wanna be sure its all compatible. Is the power supply enough?

Any noticeable bottlenecks in speed or graphics?

Any way to drop price and keep performance? :D

Tnx for any help!

  1. Pretty good build, nothing wrong with it at all.

To lower the cost, here's what I would do.

    Change the RAM to this.
    G..Skill Ares 8GB (2x4GB) 1600Mhz CL9 1.5v. $39
Slightly slower than that 1866Mhz kit, but the performance loss is negligible. Also low profile so it wont conflict with any heatsinks.

Cheaper heatsink that I suspect will work better and be quieter.
    Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO. $32

Would get this GTX660 instead, better cooling and a massive rebate if you can get it.
    MSI GTX660. $230 ($30 rebate)
  2. Thanks Man! Looked into the changes you recommended all brilliant.

Appreciate your help and input!Cant wait till Cyber monday :pt1cable:
