TV card incompatibility with ECS K7AMA mobos?

I don't suppose anyone here has experience with a VoodooTV or Hauppauge WinTV card on an ECS K7AMA motherboard?

As soon as the video comes on screen the system locks up _solid_. I already know that there are issues between the cards and the ALiMAGiK 1 chipset that my motherboard uses, but I was wondering if anyone's overcome the problem. Here's what the Hauppauge website says --

1. Check with ALI for any possible PCI bus or BIOS updates
Tried that. No joy
2. Move WinTV to a different PCI slot
No joy
3. Try using DIB DRAW mode
Nope...

Any suggestions?
