I remember having this card. It was my first dedicated card I ever owned, and it SUCKED. I did some serious overclocking. 725/500/1400 and still didnt do much for my games.

it really depends. my edition is the special edition of the 8400 and has been knows to be about 150% better to the normal versions

Comparing Mine To Normal 8400gs

GeForce 8400 GS XFX 1GB Edition is a special edition of the GeForce 8400 GS. See the page of the standard version for more information.
The new features (when compared to the first edition of the 8400 GS) include raised core and memory clocks from 450MHz to 567MHz and from 800 to 1066MHz, respectively. The overclocking is quite impressive but the biggest limitation is still the amount of SPUs the architecture supports. However, GeForce 8400 GS XFX 1GB Edition's performance surpasses the GeForce 8500 GT and becomes pretty close to GeForce 8600 GS.
GeForce 8400 GS XFX 1GB Edition is equipped with DDR3, instead of slow DDR2 and the video memory was also increased to 1GB.
