Hello, looking for a litle help ... Fired up my computer and won't boot. Screen is covered with pixelated lines. Runs through the boot up process, then restarts and hangs on initial blue screen with HP symbol. Started in safe mode .. Copied most important data, and shut down. Restarted, all the same symptoms but ran a system restore during boot..no change to booting as described above but now safe mode boots only to a heavily pixelated screen that is mostly black I can see and move mouse that's it. Hoping it's a graphics card and not a fried CPU. thoughts??

Possibly a memory failure on the video card. Time for a new card.

If you can I would uninstall the graphics drivers completely and see if Windows will boot correctly then. If you can the try to re-install the graphics drivers as it could be just a corrupt driver. Good luck

Not a driver issue. Safe mode doesn't use them.

You are correct I guess I did not read his post correctly. Most likely a memory problem then. That is what I get for not reading the whole post before I reply. Windows uses the default VGA drivers in safe mode.
