Hello i am going to build my very first pc soon and i was just wondering what are the chances of static shocking a component and frying it? and if i buy an Anti-static wrist strap, does it eliminate all the chances of it happening?

no. It does not but it helps reduce the risk. Most of the time when static fries parts it is user error. Nothing can prevent static from frying parts not even making a pc with a antistatic wrist strap + workstation + going nude. All those may help. Just remeber to ground yourself. Do not touch any of the contacts and it should go well.
