Hi everyone. I'm thinking of upgrating my gtx 560 SLI setup. So here are my options:
1st getting a gigabyte gtx 670 and OC to 1200 mhz (i heard it goes that far with no problem) and maybe leave 1 of my 560's for a phyxs card.
2nd. Get a HD 6990 and sell my 2 560's.

which choice will be better and give me solid 60fps in every game i play?
I know 1st is cheaper but will i get solid 60 fps in games like The witcher 2, Battlefield 3 and the upcoming Metro last light?

Any advice will be really appreciated.

I would def go the 670 route...it would save you some cash and you will get great performance in games....what are the specs of the rest of your pc and what resolution do you game at?

The 670 is going to be much more reliable and is going to work better. And the 560Ti for Physx is a nice touch.

What does the rest of your computer look like, and what power supply are you running?

6990 isn't as good of a card as it would appear to be, go with the 670 and if you use a lot of physx games go for a 560 for it just make sure to set it under the cp as physx

my cpu is i7 2600 OC to 4.2ghz with 8gb of ddr3 ram 1333mhz and a HIPRO 630w with a peak of 730W power supply i found a good gaming 850W psu but i was aimed for the 6990 i don't think I will need it for the 670

you sure? The hd 6990 is 2x 6970 and it performed better with just a little fps in some benchmarks than a gtx 590. these are the cards i'm planing to buy

I think your power supply should run the 670, johnnyguru has a review on the 550W version of your power supply and it looks promising. Just go for the 670.

The only game you listed that uses Physx is Metro.

i forgot i play at 1920x1080

The 670 is more stable in that it doesnt have to manage running 2 GPU's, which can run into power and stuttering problems. Also, generally dual-gpu solutions do not have as good driver support or drivers in general.

yes but i also play batman AC i can run it with my 2x 560's but i mainly need the upgrade for metro last light and games that don't support SLI.

well then i will get the 670 if everyone says it better thanks for the advice

560ti's already I say you wait a little longer buddy the performance increase of almost any card will be Negligible at best unless you are feeling Vram starved.
If you chose to get the 570 do not under any circumstances use a 560 ti for physics, that is crazy. The impact of physx on a 670 is really small likely unnoticeable.

i have the gtx 560 2gb and i'm not in any way Vram starved and why not keep on of the 560's for physx? in a game with heavy physx like bm AC it will be noticable if it isnt i will sell it. Oh and i don't have 560 ti i have non-ti versions

I see, well in that case a 670 is a good buy but the 560 uses to much power to be a physics card.

Plus sell the 560's while they are still worth something the 670 is a big boy and can do it all by himself....

yea the 670 is really good and the gigabyte version that i'm getting runs really cool and it's a beast in OC i can overklock it to 1200 mhz and get better fps than a 680.But i will still try the 560 physx if it works good enough i will keep 1 and if doesnt i will sell the 2 of them.i don't care about power usage and noise i only care about the fps if its 60 solid i'm happy if it isn't it really bothers me in the cutscenes of the witcher 2 EE the cinematic DOF brings fps down to 30 sometimes and i get really pissed of but this is the game it happens to the 690 as well
