Ive been looking around at various cards today, 7850, 7870, 7950, and GTX660. I had my hopes set on the GTX 660 for several months before it arrived, but I was hoping it would have been released in the $250 range . Anyways, i've come to the conclusion of scrapping my idea of building an intel i5 rig and sticking with my current one:
Antec Nine Hundred Two AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE (stock) Asus M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 EVGA GTX 460 768mb HT|Omega Striker 7.1 Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 8GB (4x2GB) DDR3 1333 Thermaltake TR2 RX 750w 25" Hanns G 1080p monitor
Decided to squeeze another 2 years out of this so now im in the market for a better GPU. Im looking towards AMD/ATI cards since my board is CF and not SLI . I guess im looking for what is good for the money since the price drops. Im deciding between the 7850 or 7870, since a 7850 can pretty much reach or supersede a stock 7870 clocks and the 7870 comes within 5% of the 7950 would the 7870 be the sweet spot to last me another 2 years and maybe even CF another one sometime late next year?

the 7870 would def be the sweet spot....if you pick one of those up you will be very happy with its performance...and down the road if its starting to struggle put a healthy oc on it. better option than a 7850 imo.
