Buying a new computer for gaming and I would like some comments on my build. I am planning on overclocking it eventually but will probably go a month or two with stock values. I am living in Sweden so prices are completely different but I'll try to include alternatives and the relative price difference, if you have any another idea that is not in my alternative please speak up anyway; I can not list everything. My planned build will be in bold and alternatives will not.

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core
Intel Core i5 2500K, 3.3GHz - 0% cheaper
Intel Core i7 2700K, 3,5GHz - 39% more expensive
Intel Core i7 2600K, 3.4GHz - 44% more expensive

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Corsair Cooling Hydro H80 - 300% more expensive

ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155
Too many alternatives, just give ideas.

Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1600
Too many alternatives. 8GB is cheaper, but not by much. Can too much ram be a bad thing? Are overclocked RAM a huge waste of money?

Samsung 830 Series 256GB 2.5" SSD
OCZ Agility 3 240GB SSD - 7% cheaper
Kingston SSDNow V200 256GB SSD - 2% cheaper
OCZ Vertex 4 256GB SSD - 21% more expensive
OCZ Vertex 3 MAX IOPS 240GB SSD - 52% more expensive
Verbatim 256GB SSD - 53% more expensive

Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition 3GB
this is the cheapest HD7970, the others are 1%-30% more expensive
MSI GeForce GTX 680 2GB DDR5 - 28% more expensive
Cheapest 680

Fractal Design Define R3 Black Pearl ATX Mid Tower
My old case, would like to keep to save money.

Corsair 650W ATX12V / EPS12V
My old PSU, would like to keep.

Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM SATA-2
My old HD, would like to keep

I am also looking for ideas for a new monitor. Same price class as everything else here, good quality but don't go crazy. Any tip is great.

If you want to be really helpful you can take a look at relative prices here http://cdon.se/hemelektronik/bildsk%C3%A4rmar/bildsk%C3...

fractal r3 all the way

anyways

-i5 3570k is the way to go
-the extreme4 is fine
-the hyper 212 evo is a much better choice
-8gb of ram is enough for 50 tab browsing
-id get the samsung 256gb
-good choice on the GPU. if a msi power edition gtx 670 is cheaper by 10%, get that instead
-other things seem good

I have 200 tabs up this very moment so maybe I should stay with 16 then? Or maybe I should just learn to close them when I'm done.

Good stuff either way. Any more comments anyone?

Just get 16 so you won't have to upgrade later on. Ram is cheap nowadays anyways.

You'll be fine with everything on there, great choice on cpu and gpu. Cooler is great too.

Have fun building!

how many tabs do you actually use at once? 200 is ridiculous
