Hello my friends,

I'm going to buy a new graphic card for my PC and need some advice.

I want something better than the geforce gtx550 but I don't have enough money for something like the gtx670, can you guys recommend me something that stands in the middle ground between these two cards? Nvidia or Radeon, I don't really care about the manufacturer in this case :)

Thanks in advance.

Best regards, Guilherme

Corsair 750W TX Series

Now I think I'll get this graphic card:
EVGA GeForce GTX570 1.2GB DDR5 PCI Express

Heres the rest of the PC:
Intel Core i7-3770K 3.5GHz LGA 1155 8MB
Asrock LGA1155 Z77 Extreme 4
Corsair Dominator DDR3 4GB 1333MHz x 4
HD NB SSD 128G Samsung 830 Series SATA3
HD Seagate 2.0TB 3.5" Sata 7200RPM

Any specific reason why you have 16GB of Corsair dominator?

Your good GeForce GTX 570 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 550 Watt power supply unit.and about 570 as long as your not paying to much for it is a great card enjoy! :)

I work as a video editor and Adobe After Effects uses a lot of RAM, thats the reason for the 16gb amuffin.

bigcyco: the gtx570 is 200 u$ more expensive than the gtx550, i think that its a good deal right? the gtx660 is about the same price as the gtx570 here but i heard that the 600 series were about the get a recall

Well for a recall i doubt it i heard some things as well but not enough reliable info though good reasons still no facts proving that so imo i have high doubts I don't know what happened, but other sites consistently have the GTX 660 Ti beating a 7950 at 1920 resolution.

Quote:
"As it stands, AMD’s position correctly reflects their performance; the GTX 660 Ti is a solid and relatively consistent 10-15% faster than the 7870, while the 7950 is anywhere between a bit faster to a bit slower depending on what benchmarks you favor. Of course when talking about the 7950 the “anything but equal” maxim still applies here, if not more so than with the GTX 670. The GTX 660 Ti is anywhere 50% ahead of the 7950 and 25% behind it, and everywhere in between."
http://www.anandtech.com/show/6159/the-geforce-gtx-660-... so i think it's a safe bet to assume it kicks a 570 butt although for your uses if the 570 is at least $20 cheaper i would go with that.
