Hi,

I have just bought a DIMM of 512MB (PC133) to add to my 128MB (PC100) already.
Now the system doesn´t start at all. Not even if the 512MB is alone on the system.
My MB manual says it can take up to a max of 768MB and it has 3 slots. Does this mean that the maximum of each DIMMslot is just 256MB? Or doesn´t it matter as long as I don´t pass the 768MB limit?
The system even doens´t do a POST at all, no beeps at all

I am fairy new to this, so any help is welcome.

David

Does it state anywhere the maximum DIMM size you can use?

No, it only states that it can have until 758MB. Let me tell you what it says:

3 x 168-pin DIMM (Dual In Line Memory Module)(Rev 1.1)
Supports system memory up to 768MB (minimum of 8MB) on board either with fast page mode,EDO, or the new Synchronous DRAM with DIMM socket (3.3V unbuffered type).
It also supports a 32-bit power-on function, using only one DIMM to power on the PC.

So as you see it doesn´t really tells me the MX amount of DIMM per slot.

Thx
