Considerations for large screen gaming

Forgive what may be a beginners question. I'm not even sure this is in the right section, my question is this:
Are there any additional considerations, which need to be taken into account, for gaming on a large/plasma (40"+) screen, or is it still just a question of resolution. Do any of the standard benchmarks give an indication how well (or not) a GPU/ system will perform at that (or something in the card spec)?

It is really about resolution, if you already play at 1920x1080 with good framerate, any screen with that size will run normally, the only performance loss can be in longer response time, normally TV's have a higher MS over monitors, that can cause a delay in controls, some people don't like it. but performance wise it will be the same, also some monitors/televisions have more problems with screen tearing forcing you to enable Vertical Sync on the menu, that will also limit your framerate, but the gpu performance will be the same.
