More about looking decent budget graphics card
  1. You're thinking right ; in that price range the 6670.

Maybe consider stretching the budget a little bit and go for the 7750.
  2. Well honestly I'd recommend you upgrade your monitor first, I mean there is no greater happyness than what you get from a nice 22" HD monitor and they are cheap, like around $130 (US).

Honestly, anything decent, is going to be major overkill at 1280x1024 cause all the load will be on your cpu at that resolution.

A 6670 would be all I would recommend for that monitor. If your planning to upgrade the monitor anytime I would go with at least a 7750.
  3. You can see how much faster a 7750 is over a 6670 DDR5. A 6670 DDR3, which is probably what your considering is going to be a lot slower than the DDR5 version.

  4. What about HD6450 or GT430? Found what looks like an amazing deal for both - $20 each after rebates at NCIX
  5. No, they are definitely not gaming cards, only fit to surf and stuff. ( when a deal looks to amazing it's because it's not )
  6. Alright then, going with the 6670 as I'm not planning to switch monitors any time soon. GIGABYTE or Powercolor?
  7. the 7750 for $80 ! :kaola:

Euh, the gigabyte. But why not the cheaper Sapphire ?
  8. ...Derp. Didn'd notice the sapphire lol. One more question. In addition to the motherboard and CPU listed above, I have 2 SATA hard disks, 1 SATA SSD, and 1 LED case fan. Will my 450W PSU be able to handle it after I install the GPU?
  9. Okay, ONE FINAL ANNOYANCE. My motherboard states PCI-E 2.0 x16, whereas the card states PCI-E 2.1 x16. Does this matter?
  10. They are both ok. ( psu and mobo )
