Hello, I just wanted to give anyone in my situation a heads-up on using the CoolerMaster V10 on an Asus Sabertooth X79 mobo. *Don't*. Turns out the cooler has to use special brackets to mount on the 2011 socket that require through-bolting with nuts on the back of the mobo. The first problem I saw was that there's a layer of some sort of flexible black material blocking the holes I had to pierce (yikes) to get the studs through the board. Then I noticed there were tracks on the mobo near where the nuts would be turned onto the studs and the provided rubber washers were too thick to be used. So, I had to make some thin plastic washers to do the trick. Next I noticed the memory heat-sinks would interfere with the cooler lying flat on the cpu surface so I ended up rotating it 90 deg. ccw to blow downward. Also, the cpu access hole in the HAF X 942 case doesn't match the location of the cpu on the Asus board so I had to make 7/8 knock-out holes in the back-plane to get at the cooler mounting nuts. Now I'm involved in figuring where to put the 670 GTX GPU (PCIe(1) is too high) and the best fan(s) layout. Not my best decision, that cooler, but I hear it's quite effective.
