Is this alright build? Do you have any other suggestions about motherboard? And is 8gb of ram enough for this build?

1. I like your CPU, but don't overclock it too much, because it is Ivy Bridge, which is more energy efficient but runs hotter
2. Your GPU is evenly matched with your CPU
3. Try the ASRock one
4. Don't use 6GB of old RAM, buy new sets

I can't believe I am saying this. But the asus mobo is a better deal. get the 7950 or 7870 instead of the 660ti. If you want to save money the 7870 is just as powerful for $70 less and and a free game. Also the 7950 is more powerful, the same price, and it comes with 3 free games.

Edit. I agree with the other guy. If you have have 3x2gb ram then get either a new 2x2gb set or a 2x4gb set, mixing to sets in the same channel might not work.

If you are planning to overclock, you might also want a CPU cooler.

Will AMD 7950 run as efficient as Nvidia 660 ti?
