IDK if any rig out now or in the near future will be able to max out crysis 3, if we are
to believe crytek"we promise to melt your PC...". As for the most taxing game of those
mentioned out now, that would be BF3. (I still don't think you can run physx and be playable on the more demanding metro 2033...not even with gtx690... but I'm not sure).
Every site seems to do the majority of BF3 testing in singleplayer. But why? I mean the
story is ok I guess but online play is where the real action is (opposite of MW3 which had
a good story but what is becoming cookie cutter online play). The reason is so they can
get results that don't vary from one play through to the next so much. With all the chaos
of 64 players on huge maps in all kinds of vehicles(vs linear play with a squad against a
few baddies that pop up from time to time) the fps of a card in single will be woefully in-
adequate for playing online. When once a card could do aa, hbao and motion blur, you may
end up dropping to fxaa(small drop), ssao(same) and turning motion blur off(better for both
fps and spotting peeps around your ride) so you don't get slaughtered by folks who turned
their settings down to play like you should have.
HD7770 is a great overclocker. Even with a mild overclock it could deliver the same level of
gameplay as both hd6870 and gtx560ti back when it was launched, and that was months
before the more recent performance enhancing driver updates. Here is an article at
hardocp about just such a mildly overclocked xfx 7770 reviewed around Valentines Day:

A 7770 would let you frag folks around the world just fine on near max settings at 1080p,
let alone 720p. And you can always overclock to get even more bang for your buck.
