  1. Choice is limited to Nvidia ?
  2. open the case and look at the side of the power supply and check the wattage, dells come with very low wattage power supplies, which if you dont upgrade your psu also you choices are limited.
  3. Found this shot of inside of case with optiflex 390 pic label(using google image search)

    Here's the power supply:

    Here's the power supply label:

here's the back of the case:

17.8A +12v rail(213w). It's a slim and cramped case so needs a short, low profile card.

May be hard to find an nvidia card that fills the bill and is competitive price/perf. wise.

Edit: a pic of label is also on page with pic of power supply(also the connectors on it).

Edit: no molex or pcie 6pin connectors, so card cannot pull more than 75w(peg slot).

Edit:mccallumk, is your software cuda specific? Are there certain sites/shops you'd
prefer to purchase from(based on country/state/city, shipping, taxes, etc)?
  4. I've heard AMD 7750's can run on 250w PSUs from people that have used them. This one is single slot: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150612
Edit: NM, this card is normal width so it wont fit.

    Try this low-profile one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202002

I guess if you NEED nvidia: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125346

Here is the same card at NCIX for 49.99(shipping should be free ie order>$50, <200lbs).

Get this too (if you need it) to make order more than $50:

Edit:wikipedia has tdp at 50 or 60 watts, which happen to be around 7750 at 55w.

An optiplex should have no trouble powering a card under 75w (limit off of PEG slot).
This gt430 should work fine for you(96 cuda cores avail. vs 32 core min. required)
