Hello, i have a samsung RC530 and i am trying to switch from my intel HD graphics to my nvidia optimus graphics

most likely you have to load up a 3d program (like a game) to switch to the dedicated card...which I believe in this case is a GT 540M? I dont think there is a way to manually switch besides setting the program to use the dedicated card...i do not know if there is a way to do that in nvidia drivers but I know that is possible in amd drivers. someone could probably provide further insight on that....but as far as your question goes just try loading a game up....maybe download gpuz so you can monitor and make sure the gpu is being utilized.
