How much faster is the 7970 compared to 7950? There is quite a price difference.

To be honest... the 7970 isn't worth the price tag. the 7950 would be better. but.. i still say the 660 TI

Good to know... Me personally i'd get the 660 TI because it beats the 7950 even if the 660 TI is a young card and its drivers have not matured. it still has beaten the 7950 in many benchmarks

Mainly depends on what games you play:
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/645?vs=647

The 7950B earns huge marks in Crysis, and smaller wins in Metro, Dirt 3, and Batman, while the GTX 660 Ti gets small wins in Total War, BF3, and Portal.

Looking at Anand's bench, I would say the 7950B is better, since a lot are built with 7970 PCB's and the fact that the 7950 is significantly less memory-bottlenecked makes heavy core OC's more rewarding.

Actually no, the next generation code named "Maxwell" won't be out till at earliest 2014.. the cards you may have been reading about would be the rev of kepler. Like intel has their "Tick, tock" sequence with their cpu's.. NVIDIA seems to always do a similar thing... Will the rev cards be faster? Yes, most likely is history of nvidia repeats its self like fermi. Is there a guarantee it will be worth the extra 100% tacked on to each level of cards? depends on how the performance will be. That i don't have a answer for yet

You won't go wrong if you purchase that card. Definitely a good choice. That card is beastly, warranty is good. Performance is near my 670 reference from EVGA :sol:
