Can my motherboard handle a GTX570 without breaking or something like that?

Hi I'm wondering if a GTX 570 can work in my computer without a problem with the motherboard. I tested it out and it fitted just fine and everything is good. I'm afraid to run it since some people told me it might break the motherboard. Heres a picture for some reference:
PS: The GPU in the pic is old one.

  1. I think if it fit and as long as it wasn't blocking air flow you'll be fine. The GeForce GTX 570 has a maximum power consumption of just under 219 Watts, as such you'll need to power the card with two 6-pin PCIe PEG leads from your power supply.I'd recommend you have a reliable 550W though
