Windows 7 consuming 50gb harddrive space

Hello,
Can anyone tell me why a new hp computer with windows 7 is consuming over 50GB of the HDD?

Its all of the crap ware that comes with a new computer nowadays that is taking up all of the space.

win7 takes up ~20GB of space, the rest of it is junk loaded by the manufacturer; most of which can be taken off. Do not remove anything relating to hardware (like keyboard, sound, graphics, or camera software), but all the crap backup utilities, toolbars, 'free' (lol) antivirus, and other things can (and perhaps should) be removed. After removing a bunch of software then force Windows to defrag.

Ditto above. Also, when you are done making a leam mean computing maching do a full system Windows backup. Gives you something to fall back on down the road.
