can anyone help?

when i connect my video card to my power supply my pc won't even turn on. when i disconnect it from the power supply the pc will boot normally. my power supply is 600w and my mother board is an asus p8z77-v lk. everything else is working fine except for the video card. i just recieved it yesterday too so could it be a faulty one?

What is the exact make and model of the PSU?

the psu is an ocz modXstream-pro

i also didnt use the cable that came with the video card. i used the pci express cable that came with the psu.

So your not even seeing a post screen?

If you have no other machine or PSU to test with, I'd suggest trying it with the molex to PCI-e connector, should be 1 supplied with your card....

yea screen is just blank. no lights or anything even turning on for 1 sec. alright ill give that a try. just thought it would be easier using the express cable. the card has two molex connectors so am i able to have them both connect to the same pci-e connector or will i need 2? 1 for each molex?

Yes... use 2 molex

You were right to use the proper PCI-e express cable originally, but seeing as that isn't working, this is the only other option you really have to test it....without another machine anyway...

Did you have another graphics card in there before?
