Driver won't install

I have a Carry 6in1 card reader which worked fine until I restored my
computer to it's "out of the box" state. All my other hardware has
reinstalled no problem. The Found new hardware wizard won't recognise the
drivers even when I tell it the specific location. I have tried installing
the driver on the original disc and then plugging in device. I have
downloaded latest driver from manufacturers website and directed the wizard
to that location, but whatever I do it will not install.I have tried the
card reader on another computer and it was recognised and installed straight
away. Both computers running XP Home. I had the same problem with my digital
camera (Konica KDZ 400) which is why I bought the card reader in the first
place.
