As the title says, I am trying to decide between the GTX 670 and the Radeon 7970. I have been getting mixed answers from my friends, so I came to here to see what your opinions were. Any concrete tests would be nice, and also it would be nice if you could recommend a version of the two cards to buy. Such as XFX DD Version, or the EVGA 4gb version.

I would like to either shop on amazon or newegg.

The launch tests comparing the 7970 and the gtx 670 are obsolete because of driver updates to the Radeon side and the 7970 "ghz edition" update. That being said if you buy a factory o/c version of the 670 it will probably rival the radeon card like it did originally because the ghz edition is essentially a massive factory o/c. I would go with the 670 just because they are often cheaper as jtenorj said. However, I would stick with one of the more refined cards like the MSI power edition instead of buying the cheapest sku. This card has amazing overclocking controls, cooling, and factory o/c.

If you are using crossfire or sli I would imagine you are either on a 2560x1600 monitor or wanting 3-monitor support because on one 1080p monitor the most you'll ever need is a single gtx 670.

Thanks for the response, but I know the price difference, just looking for specifications and other things that would make one card better than the other. I will be running crossfire/sli.
