RAM upgrade help

hi,
i would like to upgrade the RAM of my pentium111 500mhz,12gb,64mbRAM - compaq pc, to 128mb.The mother-board (pc100?) manual says, the mainboard supports 3.3v, unbuffered,4clock,SDRAM DIMM only. Due to loading anomalies, using DIMM with an `n X 4´DRAM base on this mainboard is not recommended.
Can anyone help me to find a RAM for me (brand, price and quality)?
thanks
praved.

Crucial.com has a memory selector wizard. I got you started by choosing a Compaq computer. You can go on from their by choosing the system model, etc.

This place is great because it's fairly inexpensive, free 2nd day shipping, and they have a lifetime warranty.

May be you can call up to Compaq and ask them?

Yeah, basically that's the only suggestion, unless you can dig up the exact name of the motherboard by cracking open your computer and looking at it.

Thanks once again, btvillarin. Mine is VIA VT82C+ 596B(Pro+)two-chip AGPset mainboard. In the first bank of the three 168 pin DIMM sockets, there is a 8x64 PC100, 09-2008-99 ASMI D641688-8A installed.
(Left a message at our compaq service centre, no resopnse yet.)

I think you can get this stuff. How much RAM do you have right now? Whatever that amount is, I would just get the same amount to be safe. When looking at this list, don't get the ones that have features such as ECC and Registered on them. Get one with a CL=2 (even though the present RAM you have will be rated that). If you don't feel confident, you can just wait.

When you said you left a message, was it an email or phone message? I would try to talk to an actual person...

Good luck
