Dark Ages: Basic Rules

The basic rules for the Dark Ages line are intended to allow players
to use any of the hardcover supplementary rulebooks (Dark Ages:
Mage, Dark Ages: Werewolf, Dark Ages: Inquisitor and Dark Ages:
Fae) without having to purchase Dark Ages: Vampire. These rules have
been excerpted from Dark Ages: Vampire, but without vampire-specific
information and rules.

For a second I thought you were going to get shouted at and sued.

Then I realized who you were.

Wohoo, and thanks! The ploy might even work... for the first time ever,
I am seriously considering buying Dark Ages: Mage.

Nice and handy! If just they'd taken the time to remove the
vampire-specific things from the last page, also known as the character
sheet...

Yeah, but look how much beautiful material that is. 90-odd pages.

Now there are no excuses not to play DA: Inquisition.

Cheers,

I successfully ran DA:Mage without DA:V and just asked friends with DA:V
about the new rules I didn't know. Of course, this will be nice to have an
actual set of rules to refer to rather than guess at.

Darn it! Another download that I can't read on Adobe 5. Doesn't
White Wolf realize that there are a _lot_ of folks out there who
can't use Adobe 6 for one reason or another? It would be nice
to have some backwards compatible documents - at least the DA
character sheet is readable, even if the background doesn't come
through - I can't read the Basic Rules at all. Very annoying.

Frustrated,
Ky

I hate to state the obvious, but it does mean you are using a severely outdated
OS on your computer. Windows 98SE and better will support Adobe Reader 6.

That said, in this case the PDF is of such simple quality that there would be no
difference when making it a version 5 compatible one. Anyone with the full
version of Adobe Acrobat 6 should (I think) be able to create version 5 PDFs.

Not all of us can afford to buy new computers every few years.

It works for some people. Hell, I think MOST people could be doing stuff on
Linux.

However, I have a great need for several specialized programs that have
specific platform bases.
