Thinking of buying a MSI AMD Radeon HD 7850 Twin Frozr III and I was wondering if my FX 4170 @4.3 would bottleneck it.Thanks for any replies. Also would it work in a pci e 2.0 mobo.

no it will not. i tested my FX 4100 that was clocked @4.2GHz with a friends MSi Twin Frozr HD 7950 and it did great ? Games i tested: BF3, Skyrim, Batman AC, MP3, Dirt 3 etc. so you'll be fine :)

Thanks so does that mean that a 7870 will run fine?

Haha I had to put my 6950 unlocked into another computer, for it was getting too hot in my new Antec Sonata case. I swapped it for a GTX460 I had lying around. Right now my 6950 is sitting with my 965BE as a LAN computer.

mines gets hot to but its manageable 40c IDLE and like 60-70c load. my card has dual fans and my case has 5x High Performance fans

I only had an exhaust fan on my 6950 in this Antec Sonata, as there was no intake. My card was getting up past 90C in stress tests with the fan blowing past 70%.

I swapped for my GTX460, and I found that there was a fan port where I can put a fan where I would not have been able to put one before.
