Hello, I must be dumb as a rock but.. All of the test I have seen of the two cards are pretty close except for the huge diff in power consumption of the 550ti(951Mhz). When I looked at theoretical chart, http://www.hwcompare.com/11741/geforce-gtx-550-ti-vs-ra...
It appears that the 550ti should blow the 7750 away. I'm lost with very lil $ for a graphics card and they are dumping them now.. Any input would be appreciated. Greg

I've had both cards and 550ti is about 15-20% faster. The power difference is the difference between 40 nm GPU and 28 nm in the 7750.

For HTPC 7750 is the way to go. Its the most powerful card that can be set up in single slot, low profile without a 6 pin power connector.

Hi, 550ti is faster than 7750 but draw more power. You will need a good brand 450w psu for 550ti.

So if you have a good brand psu then go for 550ti which cost you $114.99

If not and tight on budget, then go for 7750 for $109.99

7750 is slower than 550ti but not bad for gaming. It will give you good performance and dont require higher watt psu.

The problem with the 550TI is its just to expensive. Yes its faster then the 7750, but its the same speed as the 6770 which is cheaper. I see your $100 550TI and show you my $88 6770. (and I get Dirt 3.)

The 6770 is faster then the 7750 so consider it as well if you have the PSU for it. If you need a lower wattage GPU then the 7750 is a good choice.

I'm a Nvidia fan, but even I wouldn't pass this one. I think this 6770 is the card to get.

If you pay your own electric bill then you can't go wrong with the 7750. It will give you good gaming performance and sips power.

Thanks all, while my head hasn't exploded yet, you guy's have put me on the right path.. This is what I came up with as choices(all prices shipping included);
$99 - 550ti EVGA (951mhz)
$112 - 6770 XFX - free Dirt3 game
$115 - 7750(900mhz dble cooler),
$132 - 6790 HIS IceQ X Turbo Radeon HD - free Dirt3 game

Any input as to value for the $ will be appreciated.

Not sure about the power supply but pretty sure at least 500/550watt. The 6pin part sort of throws me 4 a loop. I'll check......sorry for the lack of specifics on the system: AMD 965BE, 8gig DDR2 Corsair ram, dual 160 gig scsi drives, 500gig WD IDE drive(2 cheap 2 upgrade to sata). Dumped my 5570gpu to my brother-in-law..I know ;)

Thanx for the link/info about the 6770! 4745454b, this is what I've dug up:while my head hasn't exploded yet, you guy's have put me on the right path.. This is what I came up with as choices(all prices shipping included);

Any input as to value for the $ will be appreciated. BTW, I mostly play BF3, TDM because of my low quality GPU.

Will you play Dirt3?

If those are the cards you can get the 6770 isn't worth spending extra money over the 550TI. I always tell people to just get the cheaper of those two cards. The 7750 is nice, but the difference in power savings isn't worth the extra $15. At $32 more, I don't think the extra performance of the 6790 is worth it either. I'd get the 550TI from what you listed. I would get the card I linked, not sure why its not up there.
