Save a few bucks and get the P8Z77-V. This has plenty of features already along with a HUGE OC potential :)  It'll save you a few bucks and it'll also allow you to SLI/Crossfire as well!

If you're going for a gaming rig, get the i5 3570k. This is plenty of CPU horsepower for almost anything you throw at your rig! Games as of now don't utilise Hyperthreading that the i7's feature so there's no point getting an i7 unless you plan to do CPU intensive tasks.

I would highly recommend the GTX670 or Radeon HD7950. They are two of the best price/performance GPU's at the moment and will bring you the most performance for your money.

So, here are the parts I am recommending -

i5 3570k ~£176.58 - http://www.scan.co.uk/products/29-4intel-core-i5-3570k-...

ASUS P8Z77-V - ~£122.12 - http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus-p8z77-v-intel-z77-s...(x16)-displayport-dvi-d-hdmi-atx

ASUS Direct CU II GTX670 ~£311.60 - http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-asus-gtx-670-directc...(x16)-6008mhz-gddr5-gpu-915mhz-boost-980mhz-cores-1344-2xd

Total cost : £610,30

Add the case of your choice into this mix and you have a very beastly rig within a ~£650 budget!

You've left £100 for a GPU? Not much if you ask me. You could go for a P8Z77-V (which is about £80 cheaper than the Deluxe that you've listed) but has pretty much everything you'll need. I also see you haven't listed any RAM here, but you can get 8 GB for £30-40. The i7 3770k may be overkill depending on your needs. For gaming a i5 3570k will give you all the frames you need, meanwhile the i7 3770k is for those who need more performance for video editing.

You do have a limited choice of GPUs if you can't budge on you budget. If you had about £100-£150 there is a choice of HD 6850, HD 6870, HD 7850, GTX 650, GTX 650 Ti. Just re-think about your system in order to get everything you want.

Thanks for the reply bro,
Im a regretful person. I would never forgive myself if i brought the wrong parts. I 100% want the i7 3770k. Yes I think 8Gb ram is enough.
Could you rank the motherboards 1-10 for me. Best to worst , the Z77 Chipest.
For Graphics card, yes i will sepnd £150, Could you rank them 1-10 , best to worst?
Thanks!!!!!

Hi :)

IF you want high performance GAMING you NEED to spend a lot more than £150 on the graphics card...

All the best Brett :)

I would recommend taking a look at my post, OP. Brett is correct, you'll need to invest A LOT more than £150 on a graphics card to get a good gaming experience. You would want to spend AT LEAST £300.

Here's a new recommendation -

i7 3770k ~£250
ASUS P8Z77-V ~£120
Radeon HD7950 ~£250

That's ~£620, which should suffice for a beast gaming rig as well. However, I would urge you to scrap the i7 so you can have more budget for your GPU.

So I cannot get a "Good Graphics card for £150?
Anything is better than my AMD PHENOX x6 II, whatever this crap thing is called. This processor is bad. BAD. Terrible. I will post pictures of me building my pc in a few days, If you guys tell me the right parts/

The rule of thumb is to spend TWICE the amount of money on the graphics card that you spent on the processor...

And you want to spend half?

This is for gaming - an i7 will (quite literally) not even give you 3 more frames per second over an i5.

Putting the 100 from the i5 towards a graphics card will give you likely 30 more frames a second, PLUS higher levels of detail in games.

No, no you cannot, especially not something that an i7 won't just giggle at.

The Phenom II is a good chip - an i5 will be more than twice the raw performance. (And an i7 will be NO BETTER when gaming.)

Think about this... gaming is about the graphics, right? So why would you get an expensive processor that doesn't help and a weak video card?

(Also, your computer's slowness probably isn't coming from the processor, but from the other parts.)
November 5, 2012 11:27:23 PM

Im Actually more concerned about the motherboard than the graphics card. I can Easily use the 400 graphics on the Processor, I wont be gaming on it. I will be editing lots of videos and watching loads of movies.

Okay... in your original post you had gaming as your first priority - that's what we were going off of. Watching movies is easy - for video editing you want lots of fast RAM and, yeah, probably the i7.

Oh oK! Thank! Yes ! i understand.

Still unsure about my mobo! Please help!

That's a pretty decent deal, yeah. Just keep in mind two things.

One, that's a combo, so you get both the i7 and the motherboard.

Two, buying from ebay means you have a much greater chance of getting bad parts that won't work. The risk is up to you.

Hi :)

HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE.... SORRY but that was really funny....

Ebay protection is about as good as a chocolate Teapot....

Buy from a company with a good reputation... AND a good warranty... Like www.Ebuyer.co.uk

I own Computer shops in the UK , so do know what I am talking about...at least sometimes :)

All the best Brett :)
