Screen goes black on certain games...

On occasion I play a game where my screen will randomly, mid-game, lock up and go to black. If I wait 45 seconds to a minute the game usually clicks right back in where I was no problem (outside of this being a nuisance). At first I only encountered the issue in Team Fortress 2. All other games were fine so I assumed it was a TF2 issue of some sort. But I just started playing Trine 2 which has me encountering the same problems and I'm not a big believer in coincidence. Any idea what this could be?

Sandy Bridge i3, 4GB of RAM...I have had no other issues with this build for 2 months. Except with TF2 and now Trine 2. Any ideas?

Have you gotten any error messages? You could check the event log through the control panel to see if there are any messages.

No. It happened while playing Diablo 3 and I immediately checked the log. It said I had no errors in the previous hour (which is when blackout took place). I did get two display warnings. Event ID 4101. I feel this must be the problem because I have 38 of these display warnings which feels like it's around how many times it has happened. It says "Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered." under the general information.
