I have vsync turned of in the nvidia control panel and i am getting an fps of never above 60 in some games and only in some games...when i play BF3 the frame rate goes way above 130 in some parts but in games like mass effect and borderlands in will not go above 60 and usually just sits there. I have vsync set too off and my screen refresh rate is at 120. Any suggestions or do these games have an FPS limit?

Thank you in advance for your feedback!

the games themselves may have a vsync option in the graphics settings menu, but on a 120hz monitor it should limit it to 120fps, or a fraction of that, such as 60fps. this is to prevent screen tearing in games. double check that the in game settings are set to have vsync off as well.

Ghost recon: Future Soilder & Company of Heroes both have a 60 FPS cap, my FPS can't get over 63 in either game, Red Alert 3 have a 30 FPS cap. I have seen these a lot and first doubted my Gigabyte Windforce 670 but turns out it is the games themselves.

Also, since the 1.52 patch I have been unable to get over a average of 75 FPS on Starcraft 2 Extreme setting even though Tom's review of a similiar system(3570K+Gigabyte 670) topped 147 FPS in patch 1.51.
