I am moving to the US from the UK soon, and I know that US has 110V/60Hz power supply whereas UK has 240V/50Hz power supply.

If I changed the power supply unit in my UK purchased PC would it still work in the USA?

It should work. I think you do not even have change the PSU. There is an switch on the back of PSU allow you to change the Voltage.

Simply flick the switch on the back so that it reads 240.

oh yeah UK's plugs are like 3 things sticking out... i belive US is different. so either get a plier ready or buy a few power cables for the monitor and case. and as for amplified speakers... i will have problems dealing with that. convertors might help.

Moving between Norway and US has givenme same kind of problems. If the PSU supports both inputs you just need a new cable (It's the same used for a lot of appliances so maybe you or a friend has an extra one in the US). For monitor/speakers etc. I would invest in one of those big converters that can handle a lot of wattage so you don't blow your equipment. In my experience they are a lot cheaper in the US than in Europe so get it here in the US. They range from 25 to 60 dollars here so you may find a cheaper one in the UK.
