I'd really like to get some more opinions on this card specifically: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130759

Clearly it's older tech, and it'll be a hot power hog, but I don't see how you can beat the price/performance ratio here. I don't see many other viable nVidia options between $200-300, considering that just about all of red's models beat up on green (until the 670, I suppose, which I've heard still has driver issues - and is a bit out of my price range). Saving some money while still getting roughly the performance of a 570 seems like the clear choice to me.

What do you think?

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Friday, 9/14

BUDGET RANGE: $250

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: XFX GTS 250; Antec Earthwatts EA750

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: i5 2500k, ASRock Z77 Extreme4

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Newegg

PARTS PREFERENCES: nVidia. I've had an unnatural aversion to ATi cards ever since a bad experience with an x1950, and I've had various driver issues with later models. I could buy ATi given enough positive input.

OVERCLOCKING: Unlikely.

SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Unlikely.

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080

I can only show you a card that is better than the 480.

If it is worth the price difference only you can decide ; i would, my neighbor probably wouldn't, my son would, my mother definitely won't.

Also ; i would rather have 2G than 1.5, it's only 0.5 difference but still.
