Well the story goes like this....

Upgraded to Windows XP pro a few days ago and right away I noticed extremely annoying sounds. Popping sounds whenever I slid the volume bar or when I would play an MP3. I thought it was my sound card (Phillips Seismic Edge) since they had no XP drivers out. Today I uninstalled anything related to Phillips off my HD and removed the card. I switched on my on board sound card (CMedia card on my IWill KK266) and I still have the same problems:

-Whenever I slide the volume bar in winamp or even in the desktop, I get popping sounds along with the original sound.

-Whenever I do anything that uses system resources load a web page, load a game, heck even scrolling the mouse wheel, there is a very faint screeching sound, this sound was even more problematic when I had my mouse in the USB port.

-Random skipping and popping when playing MP3s.

Please Help!
