Im having an issue with my video card not displaying its ram to windows, which I believe to be the reason that several of my programs refuse to run. I ran a DirectX test against the system and it displayed N/A memory after the test. I know this is not true. Im running a Quadro FX 580 on windows xp pro.
I guess my true question is how does windows pull information on graphics card RAM and is there a way for me to force windows to re-pull that information?
Personally, I would power the system down, remove all power sources, remove the GPU, re-insert the GPU, reconnect the power sources and reboot the system. Doing so forces the system to re-discover the GPU and may solve the problem.
