Any links to decent lens review sites please, e.g. approaching lenses
like
dpreview approach body reviews ...sites that show test comparison
shots ,
not too blinding with science, most definitely not having any means of
selling
you anything on the site....know what I mean !

Icing on the cake would be to have a review site where you can compare
results for the two lenses you are considering side by side by
selecting the lenses to be compared yourself from dropdown list.

If it went as far as saying this lens casts shadow with this pop-up
flash, even better.

Cheers

www.photozone.de has both user ratings and sumary ratings from various
magazines. Take the user ratings with a grain of salt.
