Anyone have any experience with this card in particular?

I'm reading a lot about "grey screens of death." I want to make sure that this isn't a total POS before I buy it. 4 eggs is pretty good, and I'm (pretty) sure that the chips don't vary too much from company to company (MSI vs. visiontek, etc.). This is true, right?

As to why this particular brand, I have a Best Buy gift card and this is the only brand of 7850 that isn't sold out online.

I'm upgrading from an 8800GT, for what it's worth. My CPU will probably bottleneck this (Q6600 at only modest OC), but I'm really only looking for a real-world performance increase, and I'm sure I'll get it with this card. It's arguably the best bang for buck card out there right now.

Also, would adding another 4 GB of RAM (to a total of 8 GB) improve performance in current-generation games? My RAM is PC2-6400 DDR2.

Thanks a lot.

adding more ram might not help with games, per-se, but it probably will help Windows overall

you can never go wrong with adding more ram, if you have less than 8GB
