hey guys any idea for a system with amd cpu??and 7850 or 7950...the rest is yours.....my friends budget is 750 pounds.....websites if possible from uk.....he wants to play games like baf3,cod4 all bl ops 2 and other.....need an answer if possible.......

if he plans to play bf3 online then getting a 7950 or even a 7870 is going to be a waste of money. amd cpus when it comes to bf3 multiplayer are deceptive. they have a small deficit in average fps but they have major dips in fps because they just cant keep up with 64 player maps. AMD would be a waste in bf3.

tell your friend that there is nothing wrong with a superior chip.

The new 8320 or 6350 are only a few percent behind the i5's, despite what the intel fanboys want to tell you. Just make sure it is one of the new FX chips, 6 or 8 core, and he will be fine.

Not in cpu bound games like bf3.

AMD's architecture just isn't as good as Intel's. That's why they need more CPU cores and higher clock rates to almost keep up...

Games don't typically care about 12 CPU cores, they want 4 good ones, that are fast. That's what Intel is about...

AMD is about stuffing as many cores on a chip as possible and clocking the core as high as possible on old architecture. This works great for servers, but not so much so for gaming.
